Bug Fix Advisory - RHBA-2009:1525-1
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Summary:
libuser bug fix update

Updated libuser packages that fix a bug are now available.

Description:
The libuser library implements a standardized interface for manipulating
and administering user and group accounts. Applications that are modeled
after applications from the shadow password suite are included in these
packages.

These updated libuser packages fix the following bug:

* nscd, the name service caching daemon, provides a cache for common name
service requests. The libuser utilities were unable to signal to nscd that
its cache should be refreshed, which caused name service delays after
changing user account information. For example, after adding a new user
with the luseradd utility, the newly-added user was not available until
ncsd invalidated and subsequently rebuilt its cache. With this update, the
libuser utilities are once again able to signal to nscd that it should
rebuild its cache, with the effect that changes that affect the name
service take effect more quickly. (BZ#528644)

All users of libuser are advised to upgrade to these updated packages,
which resolve this issue.
